Private Garden

Set on a beautifully contoured hillside, this private residence was envisioned as a family retreat that seamlessly blends daily life with sustenance. We designed the landscape primarily as an inviting gathering space, while simultaneously cultivating a productive environment that provides the household with a continuous source of fresh, healthy food. At the core of the design is a thoughtful approach to water conservation. A generously proportioned retention pond and a network of swales work harmoniously to capture and distribute rainwater across the site, effectively turning the land into a living sponge. Woven together by natural stone pathways and stairs that navigate the natural slope, the garden—complete with a plant nursery and a composting chicken coop—invites the family to live in close rhythm with the ecological cycles of their own backyard.
